NCPA Awards for Books Published in 2007
“Promoting my picture books is made easier when children see a gold sticker on some of the book covers. To them it means those books are special. Winning an award also helps me gain confidence when marketing my books when I know these books were judged by my peers and found to be special.” – Joan Barsotti, Barsotti Books, winner in 1996
Submission Criteria
Entrants must be members in good standing of NCPA. If you are not a member, please send an additional check for $40.00 and a completed membership form. Your membership will extend through calendar year 2008.
The competition is for books published in 2007. (The publication date for books submitted must be between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2007.) Updated editions are acceptable, as long as the update was published in 2007.
To be considered published, copies of the book in its published form (not merely as galley or ARC) must have been on hand and available for sale to retail customers before December 31, 2007, and not have been available for sale earlier than January 1, 2007.
If the copyright year or Library of Congress year (if present) is not 2007, the entrant must supply supporting evidence that the book was “constructively” published in 2007.
Entry
The fee is $50.00 per title entered. Please make your check payable to NCPA.
Complete the entry form. Use the check boxes on the form to indicate categories in which you wish to have your book considered. Check as many categories as you like.
Entries must be received by Wednesday, January 16, 2008.
Send the entry form, your check, and seven copies of the book to:
